Kazbek 2011

Kazbek 31 July-9 August 2011

There was once Georgia. We should have climbed  Elbrus, but the Russians authorities closed the zone, so we choose Kazbek, also in the Caucasus mountains. The classical route for Kazbek is considered much more difficult than Elbrus.

Kazbek (5047 m): the mountain Prometeus was enchained on for the courage of stealing the fire from the gods and give it to the people.

You can read more about my trip from There was once Georgia.
